What’s cEDH?
cEDH stands for Competitive Elder Dragon Highlander. Elder Dragon Highlander is better known simply as Commander. Commander is widely recognised as the most popular format played in Magic: the Gathering.
Commander played in a competitive setting is known as cEDH. In each game, 4 players vie in a free-for-all, no-holds-barred match where players are encouraged to bring the highest power levels of decks to the table. Each player attempts to win as fast and swiftly and as possible while ensuring each opponent is also kept in check.
Competitive Commander is a high-power iteration of the casual Commander format. In this competitive setting, card knowledge and threat assessment are particularly advantageous traits. However, while it may sound intimidating to the “uninitiated”, the Take the Initiative community is warm, welcoming, friendly, helpful, and encouraging of players new or old to cEDH!
